Windows 7 & Disabled Wireless

Deathbob
So today I was going to work on some stuff regarding the site from my laptop only to find that at some point between 3pm and 8pm my Wifi had become permanently disabled in Network Connections.

Solution: System restore to last week.

I tried system restoring to before I installed some windows updates at 3:30 via a wired network connection. But no go.

So now I have to re-setup IPv6 on my laptop because system restore removed the OpenVpn TunTap device.

Oh well. Hopefully someone will read this and save them self an hour.

IPv6

Deathbob
So we got AAAA records now, making us easily accessible via IPv6. Granted you have to support IPv6 to make it worth it. I also removed the wildcard from the domain, so if you find a broken subdomain let us know and we will fix it asap.

I'm also looking into ssl certificates. I might be able to get a free one.

UPDATE:
We now have an ssl cert for codingwell.net this has been a goal for a long time.

It isn't great now (we never designed the site with ssl in mind) but here it is: https://codingwell.net

The new site will defiantly plan for this. I'm excited and I hope you are too.

Well I guess that means I should fix it.

So I have been slowly working on the new site and been letting this site rot. But after a healthy number of hits resulting from a commenter on http://dailytech.com, I think the first pages I will move over to the new site and trial run are the Background Pi pages. I never fully setup the pages again after changing servers and this is a good excuse to do so. Background Compute will have to be locked away as an idea that may or may not ever come to be, but such is life.

Got a basic layout for what the final new site might look like. Take a look, give feedback, influence the end result.
